I am taking a Physics class at Ohio University. I bought a book offline to save money. When I got the book, the cover was weird. It said ';International Edition'; on it, as well as ';Restricted: Not for sale in North America'; The book is in English though, so I do not know if it will make a difference. Can anyone shed some light on thisMy book says, ';Restricted:Not for sale in North America'; What does that mean?
Don't worry about it. The territorial restriction on sales of published materials and other intellectual property is a legal nightmare for authors and publishers. It is possible that you were sold the book illegally. Then again, maybe not. In any case, the law probably does not affect you unless you try to sell the book in North America. Take a look at the Web site for an interesting list of territories.
