I want to buy the house i grew up in its not for sale or rent i wouldn't say its abandoned or anything but no one is living there and it has a no trespassing sign on it i figured its the city government or the banks property now is there any way i could go about buying it?Buying a house that is not for sale?
You can go to the city hall in your city and get the records on the house and make sure it isn't going to be torn down or anything. If not you can ask them if you can buy it from the government and keep it as your own property. I'm sure they will let you buy it as long as it isn't in anyones possetion.Buying a house that is not for sale?
Contact a local real estate agent (it doesn't cost you anything to have an agent, when you are a buyer.)
It will take an agent 5 minutes to find out who owns this property and it's for sale of not. It might look abandoned, but it doesn't mean it's for sale (maybe whoever owns it, wants to keep it for reasons known only to them...)
But a real estate agent will find it out and if the property is for sale, the same agent will help you buy it and you do not have to pay an agent to do it (they are paid by sellers.)
Just call any large real estate office in the area and tell them what you want to do.
WHY WOULD YOU DO ALL THE RESEARCH YOURSELF, WHEN AN AGENT WILL TO IT FOR YOU MUCH FASTER AND FOR FREE?
have someone look it up on the tax records to see who owns it (realestate agents usually have acess to this info)
Just because no one is living there does not mean no one owns it. Call the tax assessor and ask them who is responsible for the tax bills and see if there is a contact address. Otherwise, head for the courthouse with the legal description they can give you and the name of the last owner and see what a search of the land records might turn up.
Go to the city/town hall and look up the current owner. Contact them about buying. You'll have to pay off any liens.
A lot of the time you can get tax records online to find out who the owner is.
Are there neighbors, you could ask them about the current owner?
If not, i would research the deed. You can usually do this through your local courthouse or sometimes online. Might cost you a few dollars. The deed on file should show you current owner.
go to the clerk of court or the sec of state %26amp; ask they'll be able to send you on the route
